Governor Bello Matawalle has today lamented the loss of respect for the traditional institution among youth in Northern Nigeria.

The governor made this known while recieving members of the Zamfara State Emirate Council who paid him Sallah complimentary visit at his residence today.

Regrettably, he added, "the value of traditional institution in Northern Nigeria has dangerously depreciated to the point of losing unified voice that commands respect and authority".

He further stressed that even the dwindling security situation in the some parts of the state could not have been unconnected with the loss of mutual respect and humanity amongst people, citing example with the evil role of informers within the communities in aggravating the situation.

He reiterated the role of all and sundry in working together to confront the problem of insecurity by revealing treacherous roles of conspirators within the respective communities who connive with bandits to perpetrate evil.

He finally thanked the Emirs for the paying him Sallah homage and vowed to support them in their unrelenting effort to contain the problem of insecurity.
