GOV. MATAWALLE TO EXPLORE WAYS OF COOPERATION WITH THE IAEC OF REPUBLIC OF TOGO


His Excellency, Zamfara State Executive Governor Hon Dr. Bello Mohammed MON (Matawallen Maradun) has announced his administration's willingness to explore areas of cooperation with the African University of Science, Administration and Commercial Studies (IAEC), Lome, Republic of Togo.


Matawalle made the announcement on Saturday at the institution's place of event Agora Sengor  in Lome shortly after he was conferred with an Honorary Doctorate Degree in LEADERSHIP and ADMINISTRATION by the prestigious University which was founded in 1986 as a field of training, learning and education in the Republic of Togo.

Matawalle who was represented by his Deputy Chief of Staff, Dr. Bashir Mohammed Maru said his administration has in the last 17 months of its being, vigorously pursued the enthronement of peace in the state which was hitherto characterized by banditry activities, kidnapping, cattle rustling and other criminal activities which had hindered improvement in all sectors especially, economy, education and agriculture.


The Governor observed that the recognition and conferment of the Honorary Doctorate Decree on his person may have drawn impetus from his effort in the return of peace and other legal business and social activities in the state which have now made it attractive to investors within and outside Nigeria.


He informed the gathering that Zamfara state accounts for a very large percentage of Nigeria's vast mineral resources and will be willing to do genuine business with investors.


While appreciating the Governing Council of the University for seeing him worthy of the Honorary Doctorate Degree, Matawalle promised to do more for the improvement of the state and humanity.

Earlier in his address the Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. Innocent Kagara said the University decided the honour only two persons  this year with Honorary Doctorate Degree as they have distinguished themselves in leadership qualities world over. 

He added that the University has been  watching with keen interest the level of progress being  achieved in Zamfara State since the inception of  Governor Matawalle's  administration.

He further said that the University has appreciated the giant stride the Governor is making to diversify the entire African Economy from over dependence on oil to Mining which will boost the region's economic status. 

Presenting the certificate to the Governor on behalf of the university, Dr. Hamman Mensa, the institution's Registrar said the Honorary award given is based on excellence and hardwork in leadership which cannot be bought. 

The convocation ceremony was attended by the Commissioner of Special Duties, Honourable Muhammad Maiturare Sadiq, Principal Private Secretary to the Governor, Mallam Lawal Umar Maradun and the Director General Media, Public Enlightenment and Communications Mallam Yusuf Idris Gusau.

GOV MATAWALLE COMMISERATE WITH VICTIMS OF ATTACK


Governor Bello Mohammed (Matawallen Maradun) has expressed his heartfelt condolence to the families of victims of dastardly attack on innocent citizens of Gidan Goga communities by recalcitrant bandits.

Governor Matawalle, who sympathised with those who underwent the trauma as well, assured that what is happening these days in terms of banditry attacks is not a security lapse but a momentary hiccup that will not be allowed to last.

He said the attack further exposed the desperation of the bandits who are experiencing heavy pressure from the offensive launched by security operatives in recent times.

"I want to assure our law obedient citizens of Zamfara State that the experience we are undergoing will not last. The bandits are experiencing our sustained pressure which they react through cowardly and desperate attacks on innocent citizens", Matawalle observed.

"However, we shall not rest on our oars until we find a lasting solution to to the emergence of violence in our communities. We implore for maximum co-operation from the communities in terms of swift intelligence reports", Matawalle called.

REPUBLIC OF TOGO UNIVERSITY CONFERS HONORARY DOCTORATE DEGREE ON GOVERNOR MATAWALLE


A University across the shores of Nigeria, the African Institute of Science, Administration and Commercial Studies (IAEC) situated in Lome, Republic of Togo has identified and recognized the examplary leadership style and quality of Governor Bello Mohammed MON Matawallen Maradun leading to the conferment of Honorary Doctorate Degree (Doctor Honoris Causa) on him.

The university which was established as far back as 1986 and specially recognized by the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) which is the body that approves and ranks universities all over the world, also said it identified with the Zamfara Governor's passion, commitment and great enthusiasm in providing strategic leadership and selfless service to the people of the state and the Nigerian nation in general which earned him the award of HONORARY DOCTORATE DEGREE in LEADERSHIP AND ADMINISTRATION.

The institution's Governing Council which transmitted this goodwill through its Registrar, Mr. Jean-Hermann Mensah noted that the governor's efforts have contributed immensely to the development of all sectors of human endeavour including several corporate organizations and overall development of the human society.

The university which provides training in business, science and technology to many local and foreign students especially from Central African Republic, Mali, Gabon, Benin, Burkina Faso and Nigeria is billed to formally confer the award on the Governor at the Polais De Congress, Lome, Togo Republic on Saturday, the 31st October, 2020.

Meanwhile, His Excellency, Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle has sent a high-powered four-man delegation under his Deputy Chief of Staff, Dr. Bashir Mohammed Maru supported by the State Commissioner of Special Duties, Hon. Muhammad Maiturare Sadiq, the Principal Private Secretary to the governor, Alhaji Lawal Umar Maradun and the Director-General of Media, Public Enlightenment and Communications to the Governor, Mallam Yusuf Idris Gusau. 

The delegation which departed Nigeria's soil this morning at 8:35 via the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos is expected back within the first week of November, 2020.

MATAWALLE SYMPATHISES WITH MARU EMIRATE, CONDEMNS MISINFORMATION IN THE MEDIA


Governor Bello Mohammed (Matawallen Maradun) has sympathise with the people of Lingyado in Maru Emirate over yesterday's unfortunate event where five people were reportedly abducted by suspected bandits.

Governor Matawalle further assures that he has directed the state Police Command to expedite action to ensure the safe rescue of the victims just as he has directed for pro-active measures in averting such incidence elsewhere in the state.

However, Governor Matawalle expressed his dismay over conflicting media reports on what actually happened in the village pointing out a lapse in the process of information gathering by the media.

"the media as the fourth estate of the realm must always endeavour to verify information from appropriate quarters before disseminating same to the public", Matawalle observed.

It would be recalled that some media organisations reported that over 50 persons were abducted from the village yesterday which was not a true reflection of what happened going by Police report of the abduction figure of four people and the district head.

"In any case, the government is on its toes to ensure greater vigilance in the quest to safeguard our communities. We shall continue to do our best to secure lives and property and make our towns and villages safe for our people", Matawalle assured.

MATAWALLE INSIST ON THE NEED FOR FSARS


Governor Bello Mohammed (Matawallen Maradun) has insisted that scrapped FSARS was vital to the maintenance of peace in the state. 

Governor Matawalle spoke just as he alighted from a meeting of 19 Northern states Governors held in Kaduna yesterday which also bordered on security issues and the state of the nation. 

Governor Matawalle reiterated the commitment of his administration to do the right thing at all times and support who is doing right at all times. 

"we have recorded tremendous development in the area of peace building the Zamfara date with the commitment and professional contribution and supporf of the FSARS of the Nigeria Police", Matawalle acknowledged. 

He said the unit has helped a lot in bringing down the level of banditry and hooliganism in our communities in the state and described the sudden scrapping of the unit as amounting to throwing away the baby along with the dirty water. 

"I will personally seek audience with Mr President on this issue. We need the FSARS or its equivalent in Zamfara state because we have seen their positive impact in spite their alleged excesses", Matawalle posited. 

The Northern Governors meeting which was attended by about 12 of them and others represented by their Deputies, reviewed the ongoing  endsars agitation across the country and called for peaceful conduct of the agitation. 

In a communique read by its Chairman, the Governor of Plateau State, Mr Simon Lalong, the Governors urged the agitators not to allow their demand to be hijacked by hoodloons and miscreants. 

The meeting reiterated the indivisibility of Nigeria and said its unity was not negotiable and must be protected by all.

Zamfara State Government Commiserate With The Family Of Tungar Kwana Bandits Attack Victims, Delivers Relief Materials

Following the unfortunate incident of bandits attack in Tungar Kwana of Talata Mafara Emirate which claimed the lives of 20 innocent people, Zamfara state government under the leadership of Governor Bello Matawalle (Matawallen Maradun) condoled with Talata Mafara Emirate and the families of victims of Tungar Kwana bandit assault. 
Relief materials both food and non food consignments were delivered to the affected victims by the Special Adviser, Directorate of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Faika Ahmed. 
Part of the delegated entourage headed by the Commissioner of Religious Affairs, Sheikh Tukur Sani Jangebe, are Commissioner of Security and Home Affairs, Hon Abubakar Dauran, Commissioner Special duties Hon Mohammed Maiturare Sadiq Commissioner of Information Hon Sulaiman Tunau Anka, PPS to the Governor Alhaji Lawal Umar Maradun, Deputy Chief of Staff Dr Bashir Maru and New Media Aides, Abdulwali Anwar Tahir and Abdulmalik Saidu Maibiredi.

The team prayed for Allah's Mercy and repose of the deceased, beseeching earnestly for sustainable peace to reign in Zamfara and Nigeria at large.

GOVERNOR MATAWALLE EXPRESSES CONFIDENCE IN ZAMFARA STATE PDP STAKEHOLDERS.

His Excellency, Zamfara State Executive Governor Hon Dr. Bello Mohammed MON ( Matawalle Maradun) has expressed total satisfaction with how the state PDP stakeholders are supporting all his goverment  policies and programmes especially in the fight against banditry. 

The Governor  expressed this today during a PDP stakeholders meeting which held at the Government House, Gusau. 

Governor Matawalle said he is satisfied with the support and cooperation he is getting from  the state PDP stakeholders holders especially in the issue of Security and development of the State's infrastructures for the betterment of the  electorates. 

He added that with the support of the stakeholders, a lot of development have been achieved in all sectors of development which have made the Party more popular and acceptable across the state.

He further stated that PDP leadership in the State has made people of the state more proud especially with the peaceful atmosphere that is currently being enjoyed throughout the state.

This he noted, has resulted in a lot of people from opposition parties joining PDP because of the leadership qualities exhibited by the present administration. 

He promised to change the state to a role model to others, particularly, interms of governance and development for the benefit of both the present and future generations.

The Governor also informed the meeting of the reason behind his his administration's decision to immortalise the late PDP Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Mallaha by naming the state House of Assembly Complex after his name and prayed for the repose of the late chairman's soul.

He described the deceased Chairman as a man of peace who always preached Justice and unity among the people of the state. 

He also pointed out that the late chairman's struggle for the development of the state will ever remain indelible in the history of Zamfara state as his name will be written in gold.

The meeting was attended by all the three senators representing the State, Senator  Sahabi Yau, Senator Hassan Mohammed Nasiha and Senator Lawali Hassan Anka  as well as the seven House  of representatives members.

FG COMMENDS GOVERNOR MATAWALLE FOR MOVING UP NECO CHART FROM 37TH TO 14TH POSITION


The federal government has commended governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle of Zamfara state over his efforts at moving the state's education sector which led to moving the performance of National Common Entrance Examination organised by NECO for primary School leaving that will qualify them for admission into the federal colleges in Nigeria as the State came first in the 19th northern state and 14th position in the examination chart from 37th position to the 14th.
The commendation was made by the Minister of State for Education, Hon. Chukwu Emeka Nwajuba who was in the state to launch the Better Education Service Delivery (BESDA) on Monday at the Government House, Gusau.

The minister stated that the governor's effort is magical as it has transformed the education sector of the state which was considered most endemic with over 148,000 out of school children who were facing much threats by banditry, kidnapping and other criminalities
The minister also observed that having created a conducive environment for education and other development indices through effective utilization of resources while ensuring relative peace in the state, over 19,000 out of school children have within a short period of time been enrolled and retained.

He said, it is as a result of Matawalle's peaceful disposition that the Academic Staff Union of Universities insisted that he should be included on the table of negotiators in the union's lingering faceoff with the federal government.

In his response, governor Bello Matawalle who promised to sustain these efforts assured that his government will continue to fulfil all its obligations and commitments to the federal government and international bodies for the state to benefit more on interventions so that the state can attain its target of being one of the two best states in education best service delivery in the next one year.
The governor noted that his administration will continue to engage the best hands and professionals in all sectors of the state so that the best can be achieved.

He pleaded with the federal government to give a waver to the state government in the payment of over N3.8 billion debt it inherited in respect of WAEC and NECO examination fees on which the state government will be paying N100 million monthly.
