GOVERNOR MATAWALLE ALLAYS FEAR OVER SECURITY BREACH IN ZAMFARA

In response to the security breach in some volatile areas in the state recently, Governor Bello Matawalle has today convened emergency security meeting with key stakeholders.

During the event, the Executive Governor of Zamfara State (Dr.) Bello Matawalle reaffirmed his commitment to rid Zamfara of all security challenges by devising an all-inclusive peace model. He commiserated with the families of the victims of recent attacks in Dansadau, Maru and Tsafe. 




The Governor made this known on Saturday evening during a joint meeting with emirate council, the commissioner of police, military, Fulani leaders and other stakeholders at the Government House Gusau. 

The Governor assured the  communities affected by banditry that his administration will not condone any communal complicity which gives room for informers and kidnappers to perpetrate evil.

Hinting on the outcome of the meeting, the Commissioner of Security and Home affairs, Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad Dauran asserted that the meeting was successful as it assessed the current security situation and reviewed its approach adding that various issues associated with attacking and disruption of farmers, kidnapping have been discussed. He stressed that as farming is a major means of sustenance in Zamfara State, the government will not fold arms to see it disrupted.



The commissioner further disclosed that, the meeting will be stepped down to the local government level where traditional leaders will coordinate similar meeting to put into effect the resolutions so far reached.
